ARRIVAL TIME Call upon arrival +1 (804) 644-0344
No early arrivals, no baggage holds. Check-in 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at our main entrance (Front door is on corner at 2300 E. Broad St. E Broad Street and N. 23rd Street). To arrange check-in and key pick up after 5:00pm, arrange with innkeeper to pickup key in lockbox. If you neglect to tell us of your schedule change, a fee may be added to accommodate extra staffing, or a cancel fee may apply.
STREET PARKING (no permit required)
There is a 24-Hour loading/unloading zone outside the front door entrance. We have plenty of street parking to accommodate all guests (no permit required). We are located on the northeast corner of East Broad St at N 23rd St. Special note: there are separate entrances for the adjacent Pub. Entrance for Inn is at 2300 door only.
Check out time is 11:00 a.m. You must clear your guest suite of all personal belongings by 11:00 a.m. so that we can begin preparing the suite for guests arriving in the afternoon. At the Innkeepers discretion, a fee may be applied to guest room if not out by 11:00 a.m.
Rates are for double occupancy for king suites on second floor. Rates are single occupancy for queen room on third floor. All rates are subject to change without notice. Rates are subject to applicable Virginia State Sales taxes at 5.3%. Lodging, Meals & City Taxes, Tourism Fees are all waived because we are a private Inn. (if you book on a third party travel site you are subject to their cancelation fees and charges).

Self-Serve Weekend meals are a fixed menu of local & seasonal, organic options, or grab & go snacks!
Self-Serve Drink Service includes: roasted and brewed organic coffee, hot tea, juice, milk, milk alternatives or water.
Please inform the innkeepers of any food allergies or dietary restrictions or preferences you have at least 7 Days before arrival. We will provide self-serve meal options based on your needs.
We allow a maximum of 2 people for the king suites, and allow 1 person for the queen room.
REGISTERED GUESTS & CHILDREN
Registered guests must be 21 years of age or older. Guests under 21 are not permitted because of pub and limited access. Special arrangements may be made when all rooms are booked by the
same party if you children under 21. The inn and pub is a grandfathered historic property - staircase access only. No elevator.
FOOD AND DRINKS IN GUEST SUITES
We are a small business and work very hard to give the best amenities to our guests. Because the Patrick Henry Pub & Grille is a different ownership, you are not permitted to take alcohol from their bar to your room. You may bring your own outside food and drink as you like. As a courtesy, we have added a mini-fridge for food and drink storage in between your travels. We share the property with a casual pub & restaurant where you are welcome to purchase food and drink. Damages and stains will apply to your room fees as assigned.
No pets allowed. No Emotional Support Animals permitted without written consent and training documents. Any pets found inside the inn will result in an immediate departure, an additional cleaning fee of $150.00, plus your room charges. Service Animals are permitted - will need service paperwork upon check-in. $100 Non-Refundable Cleaning Fee for all service animals.
A lost key for any reason will result in a replacement fee is $250.00 per room. It is guest responsibility to return the key upon check out.
We have non-smoking rooms for our guests in the Inn. The Pub does not allow smoking inside. We do permit smoking in designated areas outdoors. Any smoking inside of your rooms will result in an immediate departure, and an additional cleaning fee of $250, plus your room charges.
PAYMENTS and GIFT CARDS

Payments: We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express to book the reservation. Reservations are charged, in full, on date of check-in. If you are paying by cash, it is collected at the time of check-in (a credit card is required to secure the reservation). We HOLD 50% of your reservation at time of booking. As a courtesy to those who book on our web site (as opposed to a third party e.g Expedia, Travelocity ...) your deposit may be partially refunded if you follow our standard cancellation policies (See Standard Cancellation, No Show, Early Check Out section below).
Gift Cards: We issue our own Inn at Patrick Henry's or Visa gift cards as payment. Bed and Breakfast Gift Cards can only be used on the B&Bcom web site.
STANDARD CANCELLATION, NO SHOW, EARLY CHECK OUT

Call or E-Mail to cancel. Reservations canceled more than 7-days prior to check-in date will be issued a partial deposit refund amount of reservation minus a $25.00 Transaction Fee. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to check-in will be charged for the entire reservation booked. Partial refunds if we are able re-book night(s) of your canceled reservation. Re-booking fee is $25.00.
No-shows, not informing innkeeper of arrival, the previously mentioned cancel-fee, and early check-outs will result in full charge of your scheduled stay unless we are able to re-book the suite for those dates. The Innkeepers will make every effort to re-book the suite so the customer can avoid this charge.
HOLIDAY, LOCAL AND SPECIAL EVENTS CANCELLATION
All U.S Local and Federal Holidays, entire room rentals for weekly or monthly rates, and local special events require a 30-day notice for cancellation.

All reservations made by the same party to rent out the entire house require a 30-day notice cancellation.
Every guest reservation and visit is important and very special to us. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. We are an antebellum inn that shares the property with a neighborhood eatery called Patrick Henry’s Pub & Grille. During certain hours, the common spaces and parlor areas are closed for use of the Pub & Grille guests only. If you would like to dine or drink in Patrick Henry’s Pub & Grille you will have obey their entrances, operation hours and costs.
LIMITED USE OF ELECTRONICS
As hard as we work to preserve this historical property, there are some amenities we cannot provide so we could insure the most needed i.e. internet, cable, air conditioning, heat etc… We do not provide hot plates or microwaves in the suites.
We work very hard to provide not only a memorable experience, but high quality of amenities. You are responsible for the care of your room and everything that comes along with your room. If you break, stain or damage any items in your care, you will be charged the value of the replacement of that item, and cost of maintenance to repair item(s). Includes, but not limited to, fixtures, art, books, furniture-including beds and tables, and bathroom amenities such as towels.
Guests 16-20 years of age and older are welcome to stay as guests. 16 years of age and younger are not permitted (unless special arrangements have been made by Innkeeper, and the same party has rented out the entire house).
We are a grandfathered-historical 19th century row inn and tavern. Our suites and rooms are on the second and third floors of the inn. The entrances into the inn, and to the guest suites, are not handicapped accessible. Staircase access only.

The basics: we require a credit card to hold, confirm and book the reservation. 50% Room Rate is taken at time of reservation, remaining paid upon arrival. 5.3% Virginia State Sales Tax added only - forget that other 11% of pesky fees other hotels and inns charge you! You may choose a different type of payment at check-in. Registered guests must be 21 years of age or older. Children under 16 are not permitted unless prior arrangements have been made to rent out all the rooms due to shared property with a pub. No pets. No smoking.
The William Byrd’s Nest (Room Rate + 5.3% VA Sales Tax Only)
Room Description: *Economy Room* (no sitting area) Single Occupancy Only
The William Byrd’s Nest is named after the English General, William Byrd I, who renamed the area to what is now known as Richmond. Formerly called Tsecommakah of the Powhatan Confederarcy. The Byrd’s Nest is a charming & cozy room located on the 3rd floor of the Inn at Patrick Henry’s, Pub & Grille. Staircase access only, no elevators. The room includes a queen bed, flat-screen tv, dresser, wifi, alcove with wet bar & mini-fridge and freezer, and a private bathroom with European Style bath with hand-held shower head. It is decorated in classic black & white and cool charcoal tones. Rate is for single occupancy only. Staircase access only.
The Scotchtown Suite (Room Rate + 5.3% VA Sales Tax Only)
The Scotchtown Suite is named after one of the local homes of the founding father of the revolution – Patrick Henry. His most famous speech "Give Me Liberty, Give Me Death" was spoken at St. John's Church, just one block away from the inn. The Scotchtown Suite is a king suite on the 2nd floor of the Inn at Patrick Henry’s. It is magnificent and spacious, decorated in historical valley haze and blue hues with white trim molding. The suite also includes an elegant private sitting room with view of garden courtyard. This suite has large windows, high ceilings and hardwood floors. Rate is for standard double occupancy. Staircase access only.
The Edgar A Poe Suite (Room Rate + 5.3% VA Sales Tax Only)
The Edgar A Poe Suite is named after Boston-born, Richmond-raised, Baltimore-deceased poet, critic and father of American Science Fiction. Poe was very close with John W. Fergusson - second owner of the property (The Fergusson Home) & head money printer of the Confederacy, as noted in the history of the home. The Poe Suite is on the 2nd floor of the Inn at Patrick Henry’s. It holds a master bedroom with king bed, living area with full seating, and is decorated in beige and dark gray tones with white trim molding. It has contemporary and antique furniture, and an alcove that holds a wet bar and mini-fridge/freezer. This suite has large windows, high ceilings and hardwood floors. The room has been provided with original manuscripts, poems and books about Poe. Room rate is standard double occupancy. Staircase access only.
